Today, Living in the era of fast-pace lifestyle, with the rapid development ofsocial economy and the explosion of "civilization diseases", people gradually awareof the importance of physical and mental health, and began to slow down theirfootstep to pursue a meaningful spiritual life. The healthy and brief lifestyle becomepeople first choice especially nowadays teenagers suffer the multiple pressure fromthe school, family and society, physical and mental health of teenagers has becomethe focus of the society. The characteristics of sports just cater to the needs of thepeople which make itself a worldwide preferred relaxation fitness way. Therelationship between sports and adolescent physical and mental health has aroused theattention of many scholars.In this paper, through questionnaire survey, literature reading and logicalanalysis, we investigate the relationship between sports culture and the physical andmental health of teenagers in order to put forward relevant constructive Suggestions toimprove physical and mental health of teenagers. The results show that: firstly,teenagers are all in good cognitive condition to public sports cultural cognition andwith the full affirmation the value of participating in mass sports activities. But theirparticipating situation is pessimistic. Secondly, the activities are always onefold andmostly just aerobic exercise. Thirdly, there are not so many adolescents accordingwith "sports population" provisions and among the students that participate in masssports activities,78.12%of them could not be classified as sports population and only31.55%of the students have made mass sports activities plans. Fourthly, there aremany a factors that trap the adolescents from participating in the activities and themain factors are as follows. For example, too much study, no activity atmosphere andlack of activity space and insufficient guidance teachers and so on.Based on appeared problems about the physical and mental health of teenagersand the current situation reflected from the teenagers in research, referring to theconclusion summarized from the sports science research and combining with characteristics of the Chinese modern public sports culture development, we putforward some constructive suggestions aimed at improving adolescent physical andmental development by strengthening the public sports culture construction Firstly,strengthen school sports education. School is the main place where young studentsreceive knowledge, the attention of school to the mass sports culture directlydetermine the teenagers’ cognition and participation. Secondly, focus on buildingschool-family-social interaction promoting mechanism and the key link to let thestudents take part in sports is the organic combination of this mechanism.
