Research Of Group Dynamic In The Supportive Group Work Of Mental Retardation’s Caregivers

The group of mental retardation’s caregivers is the blind spots of both current policy and social power. But the group’s situation will greatly affect the quality of people with intellectual disabilities. Under the pressure of both badly life burden and service lack, supportive group work of mental retardation’s caregivers can provide a chance to face the same problem, promote the members’communication and relationship. For the supportive group that would like to foster mutual help, help handling stressful life practice, activating and strengthening the members’ability to cope with stress, Group dynamic is very important for the group to achieve the objective of the role and team development.This paper uses qualitative research methods, and through literature, in-depth interviews, conducted participant observation data collection method. Take a case study of Sunshine Happiness group in Y agency to explore in carrying out the process of carers supporting people with intellectual disabilities in the group, the group is how to generate power, the development team and have an impact. So, come to the following conclusions, group supporting people with intellectual disabilities on carers, team members needs physical, economic, psychological stress, care skills. And the most urgent needs of the greatest pressure is the future of the mentally handicapped pension requirements. In addition, treatment characteristics supportive team work made it a better way to provide services and assistance for people with intellectual disabilities carers. The second is the group dynamics, summarized from the source group dynamics, characteristics and effect as well as the formation mechanism of the three aspects. On this basis, we can make recommendations in several aspects, such as group work, social workers and carrying activities, in order to take better service of this kind people.
