Primary school education is the foundation of all kinds of education at all levels, whileChinese curriculum is the core of the elementary education, is the basis for other courses. As themain dependence of teaching activities, it is compiled according to the Chinese curriculumstandards, reflects the teaching content of teaching resources, and is composed of selectionsystem, knowledge system, help reading system and operation system. As an important part ofChinese textbooks, help reading system plays an irreplaceable role in reflecting curriculumstandards and the intent of the editors, prompting the teaching method, guiding learning method,etc.With the basic education curriculum reform carried out nationwide, in order to adapt to therequirement of times’ development and the needs of students, Chinese textbook also be revised,help reading system have appeared in the corresponding change. The study puts the current PEPand JEP primary Chinese textbook as the research object, compares the characteristics in termsof clues, illustrations, after-school exercises. Summarize the experiences of writing help readingsystem, provide a beneficial thinking for the writing and using.The paper consists of five parts:The first part: introduction. This part mainly includes this topic proposed reason, the presentsituation of the domestic related research overview, the significance of this research, as well asthe main contents and methods of the study.The second part: The overview of the Chinese textbooks’ help reading system. Mainlyinvolves the definition of Chinese teaching material and Chinese textbooks, the connotation,classification and function of the help reading system.The third part: The structure and comparison of the two editions help reading system. Onthe whole to summarize the two editions’ help reading system, and then compare the clues,illustrations, after-school exercises three aspects.The fourth part: The investigation and analysis for current situation of application. Theinvestigating object is Chinese teachers in Jinan and Qingdao primary schools, investigate theusage and analyze the survey results.The fifth part: Thinking the writing and usage of Chinese textbook’s help reading system.Think about the writing, the design of content, and the usage.
