School-based curriculum is the course that the school personnel independently research, develop and implement which regard the school as the center and the society as the background, combining the resource and manpower in or out of school. This new form of curriculum started in20th70s, mainly because of reflections of curriculum development trend. The government of Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and many other countries had put all or part of curriculum development rights to elementary school, so school teachers had broad autonomy in curriculum development, and gradually formed the world trend-"school-based curriculum movement".As the development of China’s elementary education curriculum reform, school-based curriculum this new curriculum form was widespread concerned by education scholars in the last century90s China. Our country carried out the national curriculum, local curriculum and school curriculum (School-based curriculum) as three level of curriculum management system in1999.The school-based curriculum is towards to school practice, in order to make up for the lack of a single course. Senior high school English is one of the three major subjects of high school education, and the implementation of school-based curriculum not only contributes to the consolidation of essential English knowledge, but also benefits to broaden the students’ view of culture and cultivates the students’ interest and application ability of learn-to-practice in learning English. This research is based on the ordinary high school English teachers’ teaching practice, through the survey of current domestic senior English school-based curriculum implementation situation, analysis the existing problems of senior English school-based curriculum implementation process, puts forward the implementation strategies, methods and routes of senior English curriculum, and provides reasonable proposition for the school-based senior English curriculum implementation practice, in order to enhance the school-based senior English curriculum implementation effect.This study investigated the senior English school-based curriculum implementation from the students’ interest of learning English school-based curriculum, the awareness of the necessity of school-based English curriculum, the teaching content, the teaching methods of English school-based curriculum and students’ experience of learning school-based English curriculum. Through the study we found that, at present school-based senior English curriculum implementation generally existed the following problems:the teachers, to some extent, have the tendency of focusing on knowledge delivery and ignoring the students’ practical ability in the process of school-based curriculum implementation. The teachers’ low comprehensive quality and restriction of role changing in school-based curriculum implementation is the important factor restricts the effect. In the process of English school-based curriculum implementation, students’ speaking enthusiasm existing the phenomenon of polarization that positive statements and shyness performance coexist. In the process of English school-based curriculum implementation, teachers distribute the uneven opportunity to speak and are lack of patient guidance to weak students. The content of characteristics of the school and the community is relatively deficient in the making of English school-based curriculum. On this foundation, we put forward the following improvement strategies: to provide the necessary learning opportunities for senior English teachers of the school-based curriculum and improve their overall quality; to change teachers’ concepts of education that in Senior English school-based curriculum and the education orientation that exam-oriented education is the goal; to strengthen regional characteristics of senior English school-based curriculum content; to promote students’ initiative of learning English school-based curriculum; to make senior English school-based curriculum evaluation scientific and promote the school-based English curriculum characterized.
