Research On Internal Competition Of Ports Group Based On Game Theory

With the economic and global trade booming, trade volume increased rapidly. This has lead great opportunity to port logistics industry. However, the globalization strategy of shipping company has weaken the influence of port in port logistics system and brings great pressure to port authorities. In order to satisfy the market demands and handle the fierce competition, most of the ports started to increase investment and improve service level, promoting the port’s competitiveness.As to the development of the domestic port, ports developed and expended rapidly because of the decentralized port management authority. The regional government supported and invested more for their own regional economy, the "National Coastal Port Layout Planning " was promulgated and five regional port group has officially designed. However, at the same time of quick improving of ports strength, the competitive became more fierce and some problems related to resource wasting and unhealthy competition occurred.Based on a large amount of research, the paper regards the ports as a group and carried out the analysis on inner competition of the ports group. With the application of the game theory, the three stage dynamic game model and single population evolution game model was built, with the results of the game model and analysis of ports groups in Yangtze river delta, the paper proposed some advice on the development of logistics system of ports group.The research has shown that the price and service level has different influence on different size port and improving the quality of port service can lead higher profits for all competitors. During the evolution of port group, the direction of port evolution is controlled by the relative sensitivity of decision changing. That is to say. the authority has a new point to consider when decision changed. The port group in Yangtze river delta are facing a problem both in construction and management, and the ports should be more clear about their positioning and take the misplace development strategy, improving the port logistics system in Yangtze river delta.
