In order to adapt to the demand of rapid development in construction industry,moreconsummate and effective methods of construction project are urgently needed toimplement whole process management. To solve this problem, a large number ofinterdisciplinary talents have been a pressing need, who have all-sided background ofboth technology knowledge and management knowledge, both economic knowledge andlegal knowledge.Construction Management is a new subject in China. As a wide caliber andinterdisciplinary major which is merged from multiple narrow caliber subject,construction management spans technology, management, economics, law and otherprofessional platforms. Now, many problems and weeknesses still exist in theundergraduate education of construction management major. In this situation, how toreform construction management undergraduate education, and cultivate high-levelmanagement talents to adapt to the new construction situation becomes a concern oneducation field.Tianjin University is one of the earliest establishment of Construction ManagementSpecialty among the universities in China, construction management ranked first in thecountry for many years till now, has the very strong professional advantage, It is also oneof the first batch of Characteristic Specialty of Education Ministry and Tianjin BrandSpecialty.In this paper, case analysis and historical analysis are applied to study and inducethe issue of project management specialty of Tianjin University,which including theeducation reforming, teaching materials, research driven teaching, teacher training andforeign exchange and so on. Project construction specially has its own unique featuressuch as focusing on combination of production, teaching, research, knowledge innovation;continuously reforming education idea and method; clear education aim; exact speciallypositioning; diversity of ways of running school; focus on construction managementculture, student involvement in whole process.
