The modern shipbuilding is the assembly construction pattern; W company is one of the biggest shipyard enterprises which is belonging to the nation in China. It carries on several kinds of vessels such as buck carrier、very large crude carrier、marine drilling platform etc. As one of the working procedure in shipbuilding, it is more and more important. Compare with the block painting, the outdoor painting is more significant. It is difficult to control the produce process because of too many kinds of vessels and varied plan. This element causes the low painting efficiency. On the other hand, the ship market changed a lot from the peak to low point. Saving cost and increasing the efficiency becomes the weapon to such situation. This article elaborates that we can promote the efficiency by means of proper production plan and manpower control.How to make good shipbuilding outdoor painting production plan and organization is always a important work. It is more important to finish the company’s task and node quickly. How to let practical production reach to the order and in time. So I carry on some study. What I researched has three points as follows:I analyzed the outdoor painting efficiency of W company, also compared the internal and external company. The efficiency index involves the man-hour and compensated gross ton. I think that reducing the man-hours which are put in the production and increasing the production area are two good ways to promote the painting efficiency.By mean of studying the two faces of low efficiency, I found that many man-hours are wasted, and the need more good methods promote the efficiency. Then I mentioned that the painting plan and organization should be changed.According to creating production plan control way, we can control the production rhythm, reduce the man-hours. Must change the backward organization system. If the enlarge production area, can increase the CGT, At last, we can promote the efficiency. Contrast to the data which are collected before and after. We can make sure that this production management is feasible. Finally, on the base of the study, I form one model of painting plan and production organization. This can provide the practice proof for other professional painting mangers.
