Microgrid is an autonomous system which contains distributed generator, energy storage and load. It is able to fully explore the value and benefits that distributed generation can bring to the grid and power users, therefore it is of great significance to improve power system reliability and economy as well as to solve energy and environmental issues. In order to ensure operation safety, stability and efficiency, the microgrid usually relies on energy management system to realize real-time monitoring, intelligent controlling as well as energy optimal scheduling. Graphics-model-database integration technology enables microgrid energy management platform to accomplish visualized, modular and intensified operation, which helps to improve operating efficiency and reduce maintenance costs, and thus become an indispensable part during the development of the platform.The purpose of this paper is to make the mricrogrid energy management system practical, visualized and intelligent. This paper combines power system information modeling technology, database technology, visualization technology, and coordinates power system information modeling tools, database development tools and graphical interface development tools to design and develop a microgrid energy management platform based on graphics-model-database integration technology. Major outcomes of this research work include:1) Establish common information models of wind power generation system, photovoltaic generation system, diesel generation system and energy storage system based on IEC 61970 standards. Design CIM diagrams and CIM attributes of wind power, photovoltaic power, diesel power and energy storage systems following the modeling methods and extension rules of the existing CIM. Provide model support for the further realization of graphics-model-database integration technology as well as development of the microgrid energy management platform.2) Propose solutions for graphics-model-database integration technology. Firstly, establish the mapping between CIM and database so as to bind the model and database. Secondly, establish the mapping between graphics and database so as to bind the graphics and database. With the binding of graphics, model and database, this paper accomplishes the integration of graphics-model-database and applies this technology to the development of microgrid energy management platform.3) Design framework for microgrid energy management platform, and then develop the microgrid energy management platform based on graphics-model-database integration technology. Propose a hardware framework and software framework for microgrid energy management platform so as to provide framework support for the platform. Comprehensively apply graphics-model-database integration technology to accomplish the development of microgrid energy management platform and provide platform support for the efficient operation of microgrid EMS. This Platform has been applied and validated in the photovoltaic-energy storage integrated microgrid of Zhejiang Narada Power Source Co., Ltd.
