With high investment, large scale, short construction period and high complexity, modern large construction projects require increasingly higher of project management personnel. It is an important test for project management personnel to fulfill the established objectives punctually and efficiently. The success of a project is often affected by many factors, among which whether project schedule is planned reasonably and controlled efficiently plays the most important role. Throughout the whole process of project management, plan and control of project schedule is both the priority among priorities and the lifeblood.Originated from aboard, the connect of project management developed rapidly through decades development. Various project management methods have been extensively applied to projects, especially large civil engineering, and achieved good effects.Although project schedule management started late at home, great progress has been made. In the meantime, the concept of project schedule management was gradually introduced to different projects. However, the management level of project schedule is still low in our country because of objective factors, and falls far behind foreign countries in personnel quality and use of relative methods. Therefore, applied researches should be carried out for various methods of project schedule management.With First phase project of Tongji 2nd section as the research background, this paper studies and analyzes schedule management in two aspects. First, establishment and optimization of the project scheduled plan are discussed. Relevant theories and methods for plan establishment are expounded, and applied to Tongji project. Then, the author analyzes the task structure and figures out the analysis chart, and on this basis formulates the network planning chart and puts up with measures for optimizing adjusting existing problems, and works out the schedule in according to the project requirements. Second, this paper elaborates relevant theories and methods as well as application of project schedule control, highlights the application of earned value management method in schedule management of this project, and proposes supporting measures from the point of organization, technology, capital, human resource and communication. Finally, the author makes a summary and raises suggestions and expectations in the hope of providing reference significance for future researches.
