Building energy efficiency is imperative when building energy consumption has accounted for 30% of the total energy consumption of society. The development and optimization of inorganic insulation mortar is an important development direction of building energy efficiency. When mixed with glazed hollow bead, the Ultra High Toughness Cementitious Composites (UHTCC) will have advantages of both materials, that is, high strength, high toughness and heat insulating, lightweight at the same time. We call the composite mortar as UHTCC insulation mortar. After optimized by experiment, the UHTCC insulation mortar will have good application foreground in building energy efficiency. In the paper, the appropriate proportion of insulation mortar was determined, and the performance of insulation mortar and its structure are studied.1. The preliminary test results show that the thermal conductivity of UHTCC insulation mortar has a lower limit value; the mortar with glazed hollow bead and matrix materials added simultaneously has better mechanical behavior and insulation performance than with glazed hollow bead added after matrix materials mixed; the thermal conductivity of UHTCC insulation mortar has no change after 7days.2. Orthogonal design method is used to find the optimal proportion of UHTCC insulation mortar. And re-optimized with vermiculite, the mortar has reached requirement of the performance of I type inorganic light aggregate mortar, whose compressive strength is 2.95MPa, flexural strength is 0.45MPa, thermal conduc-tivity is 0.0706W/(m·K), dry density is 0.3305g/mm3.3. The relation between thermal conductivity and dry density of UHTCC insulation mortar is fitted, so are the relations between mass loss rate, compressive strength, flexural strength and temperature. According to the microscopic observation by Scanning Electron Microscope, UHTCC insulation mortar has a good performance high temperature resistance.4. TRC-UHTCC insulation mortar composite board is composed of UHTCC insulation (as the material of Sandwich layer) and TRC (as the material of cladding layer). ANS YS is used to simulate the temperature field distribution of TRC-UHTCC insulation mortar composite board and TRC board. The results show that the former has better high temperature resistance than the latter.
