This article is a translation report whose original text is excerpted from the seventhchapter of Introduction to the Law of the United States compiled by David S Clarkand Tugrul Ansay. The seventh chapter, Criminal Law, is written by ProfessorEdward·M·Wise. Therefore, the essence of common law can be revealedfrom this book.The author of this report, first of all, discusses some translation theories andprinciples and analyzes the difficulties in the process of the translation. Secondly, therelevant translation methods are proposed in the practice of the translation. At last, theauthor gives the summary of this report and point out some problems to be resolved.
