Empirical Research On “The Village Changed” Community Service

The development level of community service is an important indicator for measuring the degree of community civilization as well as the key and core for community construction. “the village changed” is an important way to accelerate the urbanization under the background of the current urban-rural dualism in China. With the advancement of “the village changed”, “the village changed” basically completes with the development of “The village changed” community service as its method to achieve this goal. Currently, the studies on community service mainly focus on mature communities in big cities, while on “the village changed” community service are rare. It is inevitable to develop community service for the development of “the village changed” into “modern civilized community”. The demand and supply of community service is the foundation of community work, through which the community work could better done and the community construction could be promoted harmoniously.Taking the community service as a starting point, a blank point for “the village changed” community study, this paper explores the supply and demand of community service of Wentang Village, Dongcheng District in Dongguan City through literature research, interviews and questionnaires. Besides, based on the empirical research, this paper makes the case analysis from the social work perspective, analyzes the residents’ real demand for community service considering the residents’ needs and the supply of community service.Based on the empirical research, this paper analyzes the residents’ understanding and demand for community as well as its characteristics through analyzing the research data, which involves the following classifications of demand: the demand for needy families’ service, the geriatric services, youth service, disabled service and ordinary residents’ service in community. Then the supply of community service is explored combining with the actual supply. The reasons of problem of supply and demand for community service further are analyzed on the basis of analysis of the above problem existing in the supply and demand for community service in this paper. Finally, this paper puts forward strategies and suggestions for the development of “the village changed” community service according to the residents’ demand for “the village changed” community service.It is hoped that the related experience could provide reference for Dongguan City, even for other regions in China and provide the scholars and government departments with wider ideas for the transform of “the village changed”.
