A Study On Contemporary Chinese Middle-level Cadre Selection System

A set system to select civil cadres has gradually established and developed since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially during the recent 30 years. The middle-rank cadres play a meaningful role in the contemporary Civil Service System, so the selection to this group is placed a high value on. The selection system has experienced four phases, which is a system with contemporary Chinese characteristics.How was the current system formed from the tradition and revolution? With the analysis on the alterations of Chinese ancient Officials’ Selection, the findings indicate that there are four factors which have a strong relation to the formation and alteration of the ancient Officials Selection System. These four factors are: target characteristics, social education situation, the problems of the previous system and the concept of reform.From the perspective of these four factors, and combined with the personal observation and experience of the local middle-rank civil cadres selection for almost 10 years, the thesis tries to explain the formation of the contemporary Middle-rank Civil Cadres Selection System, and makes an analysis on its further development.
