Research On The Intervention Of Group Work In The Mutual-aid For The Left-behind Women In Rural Areas

Since the 1980 s, A large number of rural youths leave the countryside for employment along with the development of urbanization, industrialization and modernization in China. However, because those migrant rural workers go to the city for work all the year round, they can not get together with their parents, children and wife, the result is that numerous of rural left-behind people appeared. In the absence of their husbands, wives left at home tend to assume more duties and responsibilities for the family, they has become the main labor force of households and farm production, but these women constantly face a heavy mental burden and are coupled with a low sense of security. under this situation, the women left often forming a mutual relationship with each other, which to take effective measures to solve their problems in the daily lives.From the perspective of social work, by means of investigation, interview and observation on the spot, this paper gives an insight into left-behind women’s present life from the respect of agricultural production, family life, sensibility, psychology, social support, cooperative action and so on, then seek professional approach of the use of group work to meet the spiritual needs of rural remaining wives with the core of mutual assistance systems. According to the demand analysis of the left behind women,social workers use interactive mode, set up mutual aid group,carry out activities in respect of emotional communication and support,physical and mental health knowledge, self-consciousness. And during the activity, with the self-help principle and social work skills, social workers have increasingly focused on reflecting and improving activities, and exploring ways of how to promote the mutual aid group.Study found that mutual aid team to meet the left behind women need to have certain effect, through the activities of the women left in bad mood eased, understanding the related health knowledge and rational emotional management method, self- consciousness and self- organization ability has been improved. At present, in the rural areas to carry out the left behind women’s self-help group work still need a long-term process, the lowness of left behind women’s self consciousness, utilization of the limited resources, the rural social work development and something else reasons have restricted the mutual aid team to carry out. Mutual aid teams need the left-behind women have higher self organizing ability. In the rural areas continued to carry out mutual aid teams need to stay behind women, social workers, women leaders and township cadres to work together.
