The community as a basic "cell" of urban society plays an important basic role in the social management. Paying close attention to and meeting the interests of the community residents, reflecting on the current structure of urban community governance, promoting the service ability and the level of governance, can help improve the social governance and obtain obvious achievements. The community governance is the first time to be written in the party’s guiding documents by the 18 th Party Congress. The Third Plenary Session of the 18 th makes further instructions about community governance. Different sectors of the society start a new round of exploring of urban community governance. Since China’s reform and opening up, the level of industrialization and urbanization has been enhanced continuously. New communities spring up like mushrooms with the generally higher level of community self-government, which creates a clean and tidy, civilized, safe and convenient living environment for residents. However, a number of old communities established in the end of last century have affected residents’ life quality for lack of funding, governance subject vacancy and backward system. This results in community internal conflicts happening frequently and has deeply influenced social stability of our city. Author studies on the old community reconstruction project of Wuxi city since 2014 witch is based on the multi-central governance theory and the third sector theory, and finally chooses the most representative X community of Nanchang District as the research sample to find out the problems that exist in the community construction, analyzes the reasons, references the experience other countries, and then combine the reality of X community to put forward some suggestions on improving community governance. It’s a hope that this research can not only enrich the contents of the relevant theory, but also offer valuable references for old community governance.
