With the deepening PE course reform in middle schools, comprehensive promotion of quality education, implementation of "health first" philosophy of education is important to the school reform agenda. For promoting the improvement of students’ overall qualities of physical education teachers play an important role. Their quality of concern not only to the development of physical education, and also the smooth advancing of quality education in schools. This study used as the subjects of physical education teachers in middle school in Enshi city, deep understanding of the present situation of middle school PE teachers’quality. Results of the study are as follows:1. Middle School PE teachers’qualities in Enshi autonomous prefecture mainly by physical and mental qualities, competence, moral character and cultural quality. These five qualities are complementary and together constitute the main qualities of physical education teachers in middle schools in Enshi Prefecture. Moral scoring the highest, followed by physical fitness, followed by Psychology, followed by a competency and, finally, cultural qualities. Thus, moral quality is the fundamental driving force for good, sound physical and psychological quality is the precondition for good, quality is the base, abilities and qualities are the core.2. five key qualities in Enshi Prefecture of middle school physical education teachers’quality refinement reached23specific qualities. Fitness is divided into movement quality, and medical situation and health situation; psychological quality is divided into willpower and anti-setbacks of capacity, and self regulation capacity, and interpersonal dating capacity and competition innovation consciousness; capacity quality is divided into sports teaching capacity, and sports training capacity, and on students for thought education of capacity, and teaching innovation capacity, and master modern education tool of capacity, and sports research capacity and self-study capacity; thought moral quality is divided into political attitude, and ethics accomplishment, and dedicated spirit and worldview; Cultural qualities are divided into theoretical knowledge of theory and techniques of specific sport knowledge, education, sports, humanities and social sciences theory of knowledge, theory of physical education and human sciences knowledge.3. through the analysis of the quality of PE teachers in middle schools in Enshi Prefecture found that relatively high overall level of fitness, psychological quality in the average State, competency development is not balanced, high moral and cultural quality is low.
