Comprehensive education is not only an important way to prosper our country, but also an effective way to solve the problem of agriculture, rural areas and farmers. However, in this big efforts to promote reform and development, "schooling is useless" is widespread in rural areas, the dropout rate remains persistently high which makes people doubt that if education can change the lives of rural residents or bringing happiness. Therefore, this article use the level of education of rural residents as the starting point, using structural equation model and quantile regression model to analyze the relation between education and happiness. The result indicates that education has indirect effects on people’s happiness although no direct relation has yet been found. The indirect effects are both positive and negative, but the positive effects are much stronger than its negative sides, which means education can promote people’s happiness in our country. When happiness is in lower case, education has directly impact on it. Meanwhile when economic satisfaction/work satisfaction/social satisfaction in lower case, the impact of education is more significant.This paper is divided into five chapters as follows:Chapter Ⅰ, Introduction. This paper begins with some background of happiness and education, reviews the article of domestic and foreign scholars in education and research on the well-being.Chapter Ⅱ, The questionnaire and indicators. This chapter has an overall view of the questionnaire and the indicators. we have knowing the basic situation of farmers in Jiangsu Province.Chapter Ⅲ, The impact path of education on rural residents’ happiness. This chapter using SEM to analyze the impact path of education.Chapter Ⅳ, Education’s impact in different level of happiness distribution. Based on chapter Ⅲ, this chapter using quantile regression to analyze the different situation.Chapter Ⅴ, Conclusions. In this part, we give some proposal to improve the happiness of rural residents, and give a brief description of future research.
