With the development of information technology and the new curriculum puts forward new requirements for English teaching, media instruction is more and more widely used in English teaching. The use of multimedia technology has changed the traditional teaching methods, updated and improved the teaching mode, improved teaching efficiency, and broadened the knowledge of students. The features of multimedia such as collation, convenience, intuitive have been reflected in the process of English Situational teaching. This study is mainly based on situational English Teaching for junior high school study at home and abroad. The author did a 5-month teaching experiment, compared the results of experimental classes and control classes in the pre-test, mid test and post test to confirm the implementation of situational teaching in multimedia assisted which not only improved the students’ learning achievement, but also enhanced the students’ ability of using language. It also shows the feasibility, superiority and maneuverability of Multimedia Assisted English situational teaching in junior middle school. The author combined with the application of multimedia in English teaching to present the teaching content through the sound, graphics, images, text, video, audio and other means, and investigated the principle in English Situational Teaching for junior high school. The author expounded how to set a reasonable scene in three-stage language teaching: the input stage, practicing stage and output stage.This thesis is divided into five parts. Literature review introduction mainly introduces the research origin, purpose, significance and the related research, and explain the research mentality and the method as well as the theoretical foundation of the study. The second part elaborates the author’s teaching experiment, compares the experimental class and the control class contrast, and confirms the superiority of the application of multimedia embodied in the situational English Teaching in middle school. The third part introduced how to set a reasonable scene in three stage of language learning. The fourth part,use teaching case to show how the application of multimedia to optimize the situational English Teaching for junior school. Finally, summary the application of multimedia in English Situational Teaching for junior high school through the teaching experiment, and talked the problems that need to attention.
