Traditional handicraft has been an important branch of fine arts all the time, and people have been searching for the joy of creation and spirit in traditional handcrafting for a long time. Traditional handcrafting is not only for practical purposes, but more is to bring a sense of beauty. With the development of the technology of modern crafts, the crafts technology of traditional handicraft and modern technology have combined gradually, and the combination of the two serves as the icing on the cake for artistic creation. According to the new curriculum standards for ordinary senior high schools issued by the Department of Education of China, more practice and application of knowledge should be embodied in the teaching of fine arts. In "Designing and Crafting" of the new curriculum standards for fine arts in ordinary senior high schools, designing is combined with crafting, and students are encouraged to learn more deeply about the knowledge and skills of fine arts, experience the process of fine arts learning and master the methods of fine arts creation by feeling, experiencing, participating and exploring so as to form the emotions, attitudes and values which are beneficial to individuals and society. This thesis consists of three parts. In the second part, I analyze the feasibility of the application of the new hand dyeing to fine arts teaching in senior high schools, interpret the new curriculum standards and analyze the actual situation of the fine arts textbook for senior high schools with its teaching and learning.
