With the development of quality education, the students’ Chinese literacy situation attracts more and more attention. Especially the studies on pupils’ core literacy of Chinese language become a trend of education research.Given the development of core literacy of Chinese language plays an important role in the students’ grow and the actual demands of current language teaching in primary school, this study take the pupils’ core literacy of Chinese language as the research subject, take the evaluation as the basic view, through the test investigation for fifth-grade students and data analysis, present the basic condition of the fifth-grade students in the development of their core literacy of Chinese language, in order to get some inspirations for improving pupils’ core literacy of Chinese language and Chinese teaching in primary school.In this study, the author combines with the forms of literature analysis, interviews and expert assessment, works out the final evaluation dimensions, including foundation and accumulated, reading and comprehensive, communication and writting three dimensions, as well as words, sentences, ancient Chinese poetry, the literature reading, practical reading, and discontinuous text reading, oral communication, writing 8 secondary dimensions. Then according to the evaluation dimensions, the author compiles the test paper to evaluate pupils’ core literacy of Chinese language. In the process, the author forms test paper draft by taking the curriculum standards, primary school Chinese textbooks and other teaching counselling for reference. After approved by consulting the great teacher of primary school and forms the final 3 sets of evaluation test papers. Each paper is divided into two parts, the first part is the topic and the basic informations of the test object, the second part is the test content.Using the test papers to test fifth-grade students of a primary school in Changchun, then the test datas were dealed with and analysised by SPSS software. Through the analysis of the overall situation and the specific knowledge situation, comprehensivly knowing that the fifth grade students’ have some problems in the development of their core literacy of Chinese language. Firstly, pupils’ overall development level of core literacy of Chinese language is not high; Secondly, students’ development levels are unbalanced in the the learning of different knowledge. Among them, the learning level of foundation and accumulated is the lowest, in the aspects of words, sentences, ancient Chinese poetry are all low. The learning level of reading and comprehensive is at the middle position of three knowledge areas. Students’ learning levels of the literature reading and discontinuous text reading both are not high, especially the level of practical reading is the lowest.Communication and writing’s learning level is relatively good, especially writting performance is better; Thirdly, the boys and the girls have different levels in the development of core literacy of Chinese language, girls are obviously higher than boys; Fouthly, students have the tendency to polarization in the development of core literacy of Chinese language.As for the problems found in the test, the study put forwards some suggestions for improving students’ development levels of core literacy of Chinese language, and promoting their comprehensive development of Chinese literacy. Firstly, it should attach great importance to the study of Chinese knowledge in order to improve students’ overall learning level. Secondly, it should strengthen the guidance of study methods of different knowledge to promote the students’ all-round development of their language skills and ability. Thirdly, it should teach the students acrroding to the gendar in order to promot the the male and female students’ harmonious development in the study of Chinese language. Fouthly, it should teach the students acrroding to their aptitude in order to realize students’ balanced development in the study of Chinese language.Finally, the author points out the innovation and deficiency of this study, and make prospect for the future study in order to clear the direction of further deeply study the evaluation of core literacy of Chinese language.
