Youth is the hope of the nation and the country, Shouldering the historical duty of the remaisance of the mation. Junior middle school period is the beginning of the adolesent, a period to form the ideal of life. How to guide our students to lay a solid foundation to set up the correct ideal is an important subject for the educators of the school. Positive psychology which rose at the 1990’s opened up a new window for this subject, providing us new educational concepts and approaches. Positive psychology focuses on people’s positive qualities, advocate the use of the positive dimension to achieve the function of the ideological education.On related theory of Marxism. this article attempts to apply the theory and approaches of positive psychology to the practice of ideal education of the junior middle school students on purpose of promoting the development of the political education of ideology.The article is composed of four parts:Chapter One is an introduction, presenting the basis, purpose and significance of the research, and the status of the research home and abroad and the methods they employ.Chapter Two states in detail the theoretical basis of the ideal education in the light of positive psychology, including the contents, classification and significance of the positive psychology.At the same time, the article analyses the necessity and feasibility by using the concepts of positive psychology for reference for the research of ideal education, paving the way for the comparison and drawing lessons from other people’s practice in the next two chapters.Chapter Three is a questionaire designed by ourselves through refering to other research result, and makes analysis of the feasibility, items and researching factors of the questionaire results, tries to find out the present status and the problems of the ideal education of the junior middle school students. It is the difficult points of the article.Chapter four puts forward the strategies and methods in the light of positive psychology in the ideal education of the students from the perspectives of positive experience, positive cognition, positive environment and positive relations on the basis of the reference and questionaire. It is the key point and original ideas of this article.
