"Ideological work is an extremely important job", Strengthening the ideological construction of the universities is a strategic project, consolidate engineering and casting the soul works of ideological work. The current colleges’ mainstream thinking is positive, but there are still some problems can not be ignored. for example:the development of micro-blog which has been integrated into students’ life and learning has fundamentally changed the mode of information dissemination and exchange, and further it imperceptibly influences the college students’ value orientation, ways of thinking and action. Micro-blog’s openness and interaction make every tiny event be likely to affect the students, there may even set off a media storm in colleges and universities, which makes the ideological construction of colleges and universities face a more complex environment. Ideological and political education shoulders the important mission of university ideological construction. Achieving and enhancing its discourse power is directly related to the consolidation of socialist ideology’s dominant position in college and whether the cause of socialism with China characteristics has the successors. Thus to do ideological work of the new period in universities, ideological and political education should bear responsibility and face challenges actively, strengthening the research of new media law and constantly improving its own voice in the new media. So that the campus has a good public opinion environment and the new media becomes the main carrier of improving the mainstream values of socialism.The article is divided into three parts. The first part is the basis of the text, which mainly defines the conception of ideological and political education discourse power and promotion of ideological and political education discourse power in universities micro-blog and discusses the need of improving the discourse power of ideological and political education in universities micro-blog. First, the article defines the conception of ideological and political education discourse power from the three aspects which include discourse power’s purport, property and subject; secondly it introduces the content of ideological and political education discourse power from power and rights. And then the article explains the meaning and basic characterization of the promotion of ideological and political education discourse power; finally from three perspectives that maintaining universities’ ideological security, establishing a good public opinion environment on campus and improving the effectiveness of ideological and political education, the article explains the necessity and the urgency to enhance the discourse power of ideological and political education in universities micro-blog. The second part is the core, which mainly presents the weak performance of the discourse power of ideological and political education in universities micro-blog and analyzes the causes of the weak performance from three perspectives including the reconstruction of discourse propagation factors in micro-blog, the distribution pattern of discourse power in micro-blog and ideological and political education discourse’s own building. The third part is the focus of the article. On the basis of the second part, it discusses the strategies of improving the discourse power of ideological and political education in universities micro-blog form four aspects including sticking to the bottom line of the discourse, promoting discourse identity, dredging communication channel and grasping discourse-oriented.
