Social work Specialization has always been the most focus subject in China’s social work. In November2003, China’s first specialized and professional social workers was born in Shanghai. but most of them did not have experienced professional education Instead of learning to enhance their professional capabilities through accumulation of experience and action After more than10years of professional development, what specialization level about the non-professional background of social workers now? How they implement specialization in their course of work? What enlightenment can we get for the subject of professional social work from them?This paper uses qualitative research methods. Fifteen social workers with nearly10years Social work experience have been interviewed in depth. The above issue is researched in Identity theoretical perspective. In this study, firstly, the social workers’specialization has experienced three stages change in their10years working process, professional has experienced the initial stage of warm period----the intermediate stage of cooling period----the final stage of developing period. Secondly, the social workers’identity can be divided to Institutional Identity. Social Identity and Self Identity. Institutional Identity experienced high identity-low identity-high identity change process; Social Identity experienced low identity-higher identity-higher identity change process; Self Identity has experienced high identity-low identity-high identity change process. Thirdly, social workers identity has a strong influence on the development of its specialization.Based on the above research conclusion, the author puts forward the suggestions about the professional social work development from the view of identity, Including Organizational Identity level, activities for social workers demand, strengthening the training, optimizing the management mode and keeping the crisis consciousness, etc.; Social Identity level, advertise activities of social workers as the main body, social workers show their profession, etc.; Self Identity level, attract more professional background social workers join in social work service, social workers adjust mentality and summarize the practice wisdom.
