Research On Quality Characteristics On The Leader Of Collaborative Innovation Center

Our country started to implement the "2011Plan", relying on superior resources of colleges and universities, build a batch of collaborative innovation center, in order to change the situation of lack of innovation in our country, improve innovation capability of colleges and universities, and cultivate innovative talents. As the leader of collaborative innovation center, the center director play a key role, whose ability and quality is an important assurance for collaborative innovation center to achieve the target.Firstly, this paper illustrates the background significance of this study, based on the analysis in theory of the literature on collaborative innovation, center director, and competence characteristics.Secondly, the paper based on the collection of the personal background information on the first14approved collaborative innovation centers, the research combines theoretical and empirical research, literature analysis, and comparative study, combined with the type of collaborative innovation center, summarized the qualities characteristic of the director of Collaborative Innovation Center, after analyzing the same characteristics and difference, we find out the person in charge of those centers have great ability in organizing and strategic planning, they have made great achievement in their disciplines, and they have promoted the development of the society, they have ability in integration and management of the recourses. Collaborative Innovation Center of different type pays attention to the various ability of director, such as academic research, management and coordination.At the third part, we compared some successful directors on the cases at home and abroad that similar to those Collaborative Innovation Centers, after analyze their competency characteristic, we found that strategic consciousness, academic and management capabilities aspects further validate their competence.Finally, the paper contains the summary and analysis of the experience gained by director on the first14Collaborative Innovation Centers, we give some advices on the select and cultivate the director of the Collaborative Innovation Centers. All kinds of Collaborative Innovation Centers at all levels should select the right director according to the organization’s target. Those who wants to be the director of Collaborative Innovation Centers, according to their own deficiencies, they should work hard on the accumulation of knowledge, the cultivation of strategic consciousness and management.
