Courage is a kind of psychological quality when people make a decision and take action in the face of setbacks and fear to overcome the difficulty of mental strength, many excellent characteristics requires it to be reflected. In order to understand the students’ status of courage, and to cultivate and improve the quality of courage to provide operational advice of primary and secondary schools, this study revise a localized questionnaire "the courage of primary and middle school students questionnaire" for local primary and middle school students. And this questionnaire is be taken as a tool for investigating 593 students in six primary and secondary schools of Nanchang with data analysis by SPSS19.0, Amos17.0. The results of the study are as follows:(1) The courage of primary and middle school students questionnaire includes four dimensions,that is, bravery, perseverance, authentic, zest. The questionnaire has good, reliability and validity of acceptable for a stable and reliable measuring tool.(2) In general, the students’ status of courage is pretty good, a score of each dimension split are above average, among them warmly highest score(3.939), sincere scored lowest(3.790), and perseverance and enthusiasm dimension score is significantly higher than the other two dimensions.In eight demographic variables: the girls in the total score is significantly higher than boys; The score of the sixth grade, the junior grade one and the junior grade two were significantly higher than that of the junior grade three, and the score of the junior grade two is significantly higher than that of fifth grade students score; Have served as a class cadre of students score get significantly higher score than the other three types; students in rich family get score that is significantly higher than the other three types; students under authoritative parenting way, his fearless, perseverance sincere dimension score is significantly higher than the other three types.Conclusion: the status of the primary and middle school students is higher than the middle score of courage, zest and perseverance score is higher than authenticity and bravery.Through the discussion of the students’ status of courage, the main factors that influence the quality of primary and middle school students’ courage is analyzed, seven countermeasures to cultivate courage quality is came up: establishing a correct concept of courage; improve male involvement in early education; the introduction of outward bound training; proving a fair chance exercise to students; proper upbringing; reducing the damage of family.
