Content:The separation of teaching and testing is a new teaching mode of separating teaching entirely from testing. It is carried out by carefully reading teaching syllabus, strictly following the syllabus’requirement to teach, then choosing quizzes randomly from the item bank and constituting test papers by organized means to examine the students, and eventually reflecting teaching quality according to the students’ score, in order to enhance the school’s academic capability and to improve students’ overall abilities.This article aims at 100 nurse students chosen randomly from two classes each from 2009 to 2011, major in Nursing as subjects investigated (Class of 2009 and 2010 adopt the principle of the unity of teaching and testing, while Class of 2011 adopt the one of the separation of teaching and testing). It analyzes the separation of teaching and testing’s effect on improving nursing students’testing scores through the contrast on the nursing students’ major courses and the analysis of difficulty and differentiation degree on testing papers’ quality, on the basis of the elimination of human factors. Moreover, in order to research on the separation of teaching and testing’s long-term effect, test scores of nurse students from three grades on hospital internship and its practice are compared, and core abilities assessment research papers and innovation research papers of nursing students are distributed, and the effect of the separation of teaching and testing on the cultivation of abilities of nursing students from medium occupation health institutes is analyzed. Finally a conclusion is drawn that the feasibility on nursing students in medium occupation health institutes of separation of teaching and testing, as a new testing mode, will be proved only by sufficient practice.
