For the study on the influence of the population quality on the income distribution of residents. Firstly, it establishes a comprehensive evaluation system to study the spatial distribution differences of population quality among each region of China and classifies the 31 provinces according to the population quality comprehensive index. Then, research the current state of residents’ income of every province, make the stage classification, analyze the consistency of the spatial distribution of population quality and people’s income stage. On the basis of above research, this paper begins to make the quantitative research of the population quality’s influence to residents’ income distribution. Grasp the relationship between them from the national perspective, and establish the spatial econometric model to quantify the effects of population quality to residents’ income. Finally, make the conclusion and policy suggestions. This paper concludes that:(1) From the population quality aspect: The population quality in our country has a trend which the east is higher than the west, the population quality and the level of economic development has certain consistency. The 31 provinces can be divided into four groups, the highest population quality group contains Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai, the higher population quality group contains five provinces, such as Jiangsu, the moderate population quality group contains fifteen provinces, such as Hebei, the lowest population quality group contains eight provinces, such as Guangxi.(2) From the residents’ income distribution aspect: All of the 31 provinces of our country has get rid of low income level, what’s more, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Jiangsu have entered to the high income level. The population quality and the residents’ income exists a strong consistency on space, the population comprehensive quality ranking is highly related with the per capita GDP ranking.(3) From the population quality’s impact on the residents’ income: our country’s population comprehensive quality and residents’ income distribution gap exist a significant negative correlation, if making a decomposition of the population comprehensive quality, there also has a negative correlation relationship, but the cohesive degree is different. The quality of the population and income level exists spatial correlation, each index of population quality has a significant effect on residents’ income. In addition, if the population quality is at the same level, the eastern region residents’ income will be higher than the western region and be higher than the central region.
