A Study On The Employment Predicament And Outlet For The Students In The Independent Colleges

Independent college is a product of bold attempt on school-running mode to meet the rapid development of higher education. As an integral part of higher education in our country, it has made essential contribution in the process of popularization of higher education across the country and received extensive attention of the society. At present there are in total of 322 independent colleges across the country, shouldering the one-third of the teaching mission of undergraduate education. The running character of independent colleges is between ordinary colleges and private colleges.For these years, college graduates employment position is severe, with a late start, short-period development, therefore the social awareness is not high. The independent college graduates will face greater difficulties in the process of employment.Because of the influence of university enrollment expansion policy, in 2015 the number of graduates set historical high up to 7.5 million people. In the face of the soaring number of graduates, employment is becoming increasingly difficult, although the government authority has established corresponding policy and regulations, we need to deepen the reform of education system, strengthen the macroeconomic regulation and control, as far as possible to provide support for graduates, which has obtained certain result, but the effect is not significant; To solve the problem of students’ employment is a long-term and complicated work, it needs the government and the society from all walks of life make continuous efforts. At present, Shanxi has eight independent colleges, on the one hand, for the popularization and modernization of higher education, the transformation of the development for Shanxi Province, those colleges cultivate and transport a large number of applied talents; On the other hand is also facing a grim situation of independent college students’employment problem. For independent college’s own survival and development, how to solve the employment problem will bring some significance to the reform and development to our higher education.Taking the Business College of Shanxi University (BCSU) as an example, this paper summarized the independent college to the plight of the university students’ employment, namely, because of fewer jobs, narrow employment channels, poor self-promotion ability; Because of funding problems, personal insufficiency, the policy does not reach the designated position caused by the low proportion of the venture; Because of the passive choice, utilitarian thoughts, independent colleges limitations, respectively from the government, schools, students three aspects, this paper analyzes the reasons, then puts forward the three solutions to solve the employment difficulties.The paper mainly consists of the following five sections Section 1, the independent college students’employment status. From the definition, formation and development of the independent college, employment rate and other aspects, the essay discusses about the present situation of independent college employment.Section 2, this paper discusses the independent college students’ employment difficulties, taking the BCSU as an example, through questionnaire, visiting experts and other methods to collect data, on the basis of data collection and analysis, compared with the ordinary university students’ employment, concerning the independent college students’ employment structural imbalances and other aspects.Section 3, the paper analyzes the causes of independent college students’employment difficulties.
