As the product of rapid development of higher education in China,Independent colleges undertake the important task of cultivating talents and sending a large number of talents to society.However,against the background of a tough job market,graduates from independent colleges face a much more complex and prominent employment problem.Therefore,it is of great importance to study the employment service of independent colleges so as to improve the employment of graduates in independent colleges.In order to make the graduates in independent colleges adapt to the needs of the job market in terms of the new normal situation of the development of social market economy,great efforts should be made to improve the students' professional abilities,overall quality,practice experiences and mentalities.One of the significant issues confronted by independent colleges in the transition period is to deeply explore employment problems related to graduates in independent colleges such as “tough job market,difficult to be employed” and “unwilling to be employed”,which is of much significance for the long-term development of independent colleges.By taking Zhixing College of Northwest Normal University in Gansu Province as an example,the paper intends to put forward some practical countermeasures and suggestions based on the fact that the transitional development of independent colleges requires the employment services to be studies through analyzing some cases.Through consulting and organizing relevant literature information,internal materials about Zhixing College as well as interviewing students and relevant teachers,the paper first analyzes the actual situation of employment in Zhixing College at present and then shows clearly the possible problems existing in employment services according to practical experiences drawn from daily work related to employment services.In the last part of the paper,an attribution analysis has been made and several scientific and feasible suggestions or countermeasures have been put forward so as to provide a better employment service for students.Relevant institutions and organizations shall be established,pertinent regulations are to be revised and bettered and practices and training shall be planned with great attention paid to the linkage of enrollment,education and employment.In conclusion,the paper aims at providing reference for independent colleges to serve college students in a much scientific and reasonable way as well as improving the sustainable development of independent colleges.The paper totally covers four parts.In the first part,it elaborates the current situation of employment service in independent colleges from four aspects,such as the establishment of institutions and organizations providing employment service in the specific independent college-----Zhixing College,the college's characteristics of student sources,specialty features and evaluation of employment service.With the consideration of the actual situation of employment service,it also summarizes how the relevant employment services are carried out.In the second part,it sums up some experiences in several aspects like employment guidance,employment information and the expansion of job market.In the third part,it puts forward the imperfection of employment service in its specialization level,system construction,employment and enrollment as well as cultivation mode.Moreover,the causes have also been analyzed.In the fourth part,suggestions have been given to improve the employment services in independent colleges with the combination of the author's own understanding and interviews or discussions with others,hoping to promote the employment services in independent colleges.
