Based on the existing research and literature related to strength training, the importance of core strength exercise is being increasingly recognized by the majority of sports teams. However, there is less clarity about the development study of core stability. Considering the problem mentioned, this paper mainly discussed the effects of core strength exercise on badminton footwork, provided and analyzed the training plan, which can be used as a reference for the implement of core strength training in other sports. The experimental subjects of this study were 16 students from the badminton department of Beijing Sports University, and they were evenly divided into two groups, experimental group and control group. The experimental group experienced 4 more weeks of core strength training, twice a week and 15 to 20 minutes every time, whereas the control group followed a regular and traditional training routine focusing on low limbs strength. Both of these two groups were tested in terms of the movement balance ability of right low limb and gravity variation. The statistical analysis was conducted by SPSS software.Research results and analysis:i) the effect of the core strength training on right low limb balance ability is statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with the data of control group, the overall balance index and anterior index of experimental group both significantly decreased (P<0.05), while the medial index had no significant changes; and ii) the influence of core strength training on badminton pace moving was mainly noticed in the self-control of athletes, via the observation of variation of the gravity displacement, and the fluctuation of this index of experimental group was less significant but more stable than that of control group (P<0.05).Research conclusion:core strength training is believed to benefit the pace moving of badminton and help athletes to better control their central gravity displacements and balance. The core strength training plan provided by this paper.is scientifically and theoretieally effective, and could contribute to further research in the future.
