Research On The Internationalization Development Strategy Of Newly-Built Local Universities

The globalization of the world economy has led to higher education’s internationalization. The internationalization of higher education has become a common view of people and all the countries in the world are striving to develop the internationalization of higher education. The Chinese government has also formulated a series of new policies and adopted a series of new measures to support and speed up higher education’s internationalization. Its development trend is unstoppable and any college or university can not have anything to do with it, which is a rare opportunity especially for newly-built local universities.Compared with key universities and other ordinary universities, newly-built local universities have short history and weak foundation. There is a large gap in the overall strength between them. In addition to location in prefecture level cities outside of the provincial capital, the universities are always facing all kinds of difficulties in the development process because of the restrictions of the regional social conditions. The key point of the research is how to make use of the chances and challenges brought by the internationalization of higher education to catch up and transform successfully, positioning reasonably, identifying the development strategy and using the late development advantage, to avoid more backward or even be eliminated.As an example of Jingchu University of Technology, the research analyzes its internationalization development present situation and existing problems by integration, statistics and analysis of data to fan out to newly-built local universities and propose the corresponding development strategy.This paper contains five parts:the first part is the introduction to the background, research significance, literature review, research methods and thesis structure, etc. The second part is an overview of the internationalization of higher education, introducing the connotation, elements, driving force, strategy and its model of the internationalization of higher education, which is the theoretical basis of the paper. The third part analyzes the necessity and advantages and disadvantages of the internationalization development of newly-built local universities, as well as the internationalization development present situation and existing problems with SWOT model, taking the example of Jingchu University of Technology. The fourth part is to discuss the strategies of accelerating newly-built local universities international development. That is stressing innovation of running schools ideas, combining with the local development to form a distinctive characteristic of internationalization development and taking a series of measures to strengthen the internal quality construction and promote the international cooperation level. The fifth part is the conclusion, which is the summary of the full paper. To emphasize the purpose and significance of this study once again, point out the inadequacies and propose the future direction of in-depth study.International work of newly-built local universities start later, the quantity is small, the quality is poor, and the corresponding research is not much. The research focuses on its international development, mastering many detailed and first-hand materials. Undoubtedly, it adds a new case for the related study and provides a practical reference for the international development of newly-built local universities.
