The pace of industrialization and urbanization in our country is accelerating, and the living standard has been improved with the development of economy and advancement in technology. Thus, it is increasingly significant to improve transportation industry. As the backbone of the transportation industry, high speed railway gains importance and influence in regional economic patterns and developments. This paper studies the influence with regional economics, transportation economics and statistics.Firstly, the study extracts the high-speed-railway-related theory in regional economic theories by analyzing the technological economy character of high speed railway and relationship between the development of high speed railway and regional economics. The internal economic relations are studied by theoretical analysis with the character of high speed railway. And particularly, this paper studies the high speed railway’s influence on stimulating the development of relevant industries, aggregation and diffusion of regional industries and non-industry economic factors.Then, based on the results of existing researches, the method of predicting is improved to quantify and analyze the regional economic impacts caused by high speed railway. The regional economic characteristics are summarized and economic data of Cheng-Mian-Le high speed railway line is collected, and then a "with and without comparison" model is established. Using the volume of regional economy as measurement criteria, the high speed railway’s promoting utilities on regional economy are demonstrated by comparing the regional economy performance before and after the construction of high speed railway is completed.
