Research On Impact Of High-speed Railway On Jiangxi Social And Economic Development

With the increasing demand of modern socio-economic development for personnel exchanges,High Speed Railway,as a collection of various kinds of high-tech and modern means of transport,with its outstanding technical and economic advantages,plays a significant role in meeting the needs of mass population movements between regions and promoting socio-economic development.By summarizing domestic and foreign scholars' research methods and results on the impact of high-speed railway,this thesis considers the impact of high-speed railway on the socio-economic development can be divided into two parts of direct and indirect impact.Direct impact specifically includes improvement of regional railway transport capacity and accessibility in area along the region.Indirect impact specifically includes promotion of economic growth along the region,optimization of regional industrial structure,promotion of the tourism development,effect of regional employment,influence of urbanization process and protection the ecological environment.For all content above is analyzed in this paper,it's in order to provide theoretical basis for the establishment of index system.In the empirical part,by with and without comparison method,taking ShanghaiKunming high-speed railway for example,this thesis compares the changes of railway passenger volume,passenger weighted average time,GDP,tertiary industry GDP,tourism income,employment,tertiary industry employment,urbanization rate and Sulphur dioxide emissions in two cases of with and without high-speed railway after putting into operation of Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway in 2014 and 2015.Finally,on the basis of comprehensive analysis and conclusion of the empirical results,this thesis presents policy suggestions on how to exert the induct function of high-speed railway to promote social and economic development in Jiangxi province.
