Intergenerational Transmission of Poverty is more terrible than poverty itself. As is known. Temporary poverty may be due to lack of material. However, the existence of long-term poverty is not only material causes, but also the result of many non-material causes. So when these negative factors leading to poverty pass from a parent to offspring, progeny will lose the spiritual power of upward flow, repeating the poverty of the previous generation. From this perspective, focusing on Intergenerational Transmission of Poverty is more necessary than on poverty issues.Currently, the academic research on Intergenerational turnover is rare. Scholars also tend to have study on Intergenerational turnover from the perspective of institutional, policy and other macro-level, rather than from the angle of Social/Natural Generation. Thus, based on the household——Cheng Wei san and his family, this paper aims to study the Intergenerational transmission and Intergenerational turnover of poor farmers by comparing and analyzing the poverty between parent and offspring.Through observation and in-depth interview, I collect the related Information. On the basis of in-depth analysis, I conclude that:The existence of Intergenerational transmission is not accidental. On the one hand, it is mainly related to the parent’s occupational status, human capital, attitude. Under the circumstance of low occupational status, inadequate human capital, negative attitude to life, Progeny will inherit parents’poverty easily. One the other hand, it is mainly related to infrastructure, the way of peasants’income increase, social policy. Before the reform and opening up, the peasants were ground by poverty mainly caused by the system. After that, with the development of economy, China has seen a dramatic decline in rural poverty. Now, on causes for poverty, individual and family factors as well as psychological and cultural factors continue to stand out.We believe that in the future, the overall development of rural areas will get better, the new generation of poor farmers will get more and more rights and opportunities from deepen reform of institutions and policies. So, what is the direction of our poverty alleviation? To unplug "the roots of poverty" of poor farmers,we first need to unplug their spiritual "roots of poverty". Compared with blindly capital investment, changing the mental outlook of poor farmers and improving their "practical capabilities" may be a good way to eradicate poverty.
