Spatial Characteristics Of Elderly Day Care Facilities In Dalian

In recent years, the proportion of urban elderly population is rising.It can be known that relying on the community endowment is the main way of urban elderly endowment that occupy in home according to the current social endowment service system in our country.Also community elderly day care facilities reduce the pension costs and ensure the quality of life of the elderly by combining the life that occupy in home to social services.This article studies about the community elderly care facilities of different types in Dalian area via the fieldwork applying the investigation and analysis methods of architectural planning science and combining with the existing domestic and international advanced experience.In the process of research, the author find that the there are several problems exist in the community elderly day care facilities:The first is that the current community facilities planning indicator is higher than the actual needs of old people, and the site selection of facilities and their forms are unreasonable,and it is not convenient for the elderly for arriving and using;Secondly, many day care facilities are the reconstruction or additional build parts of existing buildings so that the behavior of both elderly and staffs is limited;The third is both the number and size do not meet the relevant construction standards and can not meet the needs of users now.For all of these problems, this paper studies the location, scale, space structure, space pattern, application status of community elderly day care facilities in Dalian,and explore the design key points of patterns of the elderly day care facilities to meet the needs of aging society from the perspective of behavior-way.The author hopes to remedy the gap between the perfect architectural design and the real feedback of the environment and provide certain reference for Dalian community elderly day care facilities through this paper.
