With the increasing connection between China and developed countries, it is crucial for us to learn the advanced management experience of enterprises in developed countries. As language serves as a bridge, the research on the translation of financial texts is quite important. For a translator, he/she ought to command a solid foundation of translation and certain knowledge on finance. With the systemic analysis and studies of financial texts, the quality and efficiency of translation can be improved.Translation should be guided by translation theories. Most of studies focus on the English-Chinese translation of government reports instead of annual reports of enterprises. The theories and techniques as well as significance of the two texts differ widely for the gap of their styles. For the Tytler's three principles of translation, scholars usually make comparison between them and other similar theories and apply this theory to the translation of literature. It is rare on the studies of the application of Tytler's three principles of translation to financial texts. However, the accuracy and preciseness of financial English coincide highly with the ideal thinking of Tytler's three principles of translation. With some examples in the translation of Annual Report and Accounts 2013/14 of the British National Grid, the thesis probes into the features of financial English and its translation under the guidance of Tytler's three principles of translation. Furthermore, the problems in the translating process and difficult parts along with the methods and skills are presented in order to enhance the practice of financial translation.
