The thesis is a translation report. The source text of the translation report is chosen from the chapter 5 of The Wright Brothers. The Wright Brothers is a biography written by David Mc Cullough who is an American author, narrator, historian, and lecturer. The Wright Brothers tells a story that the Wright Brothers realized their dream eventually after they suffered from frustrations.Chapter 5 attaches much importance to the experimental process through which they flied successfully.Mainly under the guidance of Eugene Nida's equivalent theory, this translation project is aimed at making target language readers understand the original text much clearly. In the process of translation, the translator met with some translation difficulties such as terms, figures of speech, long sentences and passive voice. So as to solve the problems mentioned above, the translator adopted the corresponding solutions including literal translation with annotation, literal translation, division and conversion of voice. All those methods render the TT more faithful and expressive, which contributes to helping readers grasp the meaning of the ST.This translation project with a certain value and significance can also provide substantial materials for readers who hope to know about the Wright brothers' struggles, and also temper the translator's translation ability.
