To master the latest developments in academic research,to realize domestic and international academic exchange and interaction,the important role of academic translation is highlighted.Through academic translation,we can promote the spread and development of knowledge in the international scope.The current domestic academic translation is mainly focus on the books,and the paper translation research is relatively rare.Compared with the academic monographs,the length of paper is shorter,and it has extensive reading groups.It plays a more important role for the spread of knowledge and culture.Most of the existing research on the translation of academic papers is the study of translation and the characteristics of academic language,rarely to the research of paper.The author selected two urban studies class academic papers,this field of translation studies are more difficult to be found.This paper points out the main characteristics of academic translation and puts forward feasible translation strategies.Through the analysis of the linguistic features of urban studies class academic papers,and connecting with the equivalent translation theory,analyze from the aspects of lexical and syntactic of the translation.Through a lot of case studies,mainly use the method of supplementary,split,reorganization of fragmentary sentences,translation strategies such as literal translation and free translation.Combined with the author's translation practice,summed up the practical strategy of city class academic translation,for the text in the chart,proper nouns,the predicate verb and long difficult sentences and passive sentences,puts forward the feasible countermeasures respectively.Hope to provide certain theoretical enlightenment and guidance method on the further research of urban class academic translation study.
