Error analysis is a theoretical approach used in common in the study area of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages.The study of Error Analysis has stepped into a highly-developed period at the end of the 20 th Century,so as the study of Error Analysis of teaching Chinese to Thai students.These studies mostly focus on the analysis of the written material in the field of words and grammar,and the spoken material in the field of pronunciation.But the error analysis of words and grammar based on the spoken material that of the Chinese learners from Thailand and other countries is always overlooked.This thesis first collects the spoken material on the approach of asking the students in elementary,middle and high level orally retelling a same Thai version story in Chinese.Then the students' retelling is recorded and transferred into text version.Next,we classify the error in the language material and analyze them in the aspect of grammar using the theory of error analysis aiming to explore the universality of grammar error in Thai students' spoken Chinese.From the result of the analysis,we find four main causes of the error including the negative transfer of Thai,the negative transfer of target language,Thai students' avoidance strategies and the influence of teaching.The negative transfer of Thai influences Thai students' Chinese learning most,mainly causing missing error and mis-order error.Finally,we try to give specific advices for teaching and learning.Teachers are suggested to compare Thai and Chinese previously to predict the learning difficulties,thus to design special teaching scheme and practices for specific language points.For Thai students,we suggest them to intimate the correct sentences consisting of specific language points which are prone to error and to make full use of the language environment trying to communicate with native speakers more.
