Translation Project Report—C-E Translation Of Administrative Law Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

In recent years the repeatedly occurring food safety incidents have aroused the attention and concern of relative governmental authorities.Food safety is one of the most practical problems,which is closely related to the interests of the state and the people.Therefore,relative governmental authorities promulgated a series of rules and regulations to strengthen food safety supervision and guarantee the basic interest of the public.This paper is a report based on one of the author's C-E translation practices on administrative legal provisions relating to food safety,which is a feasibility study on the translation of a series of administrative rules and regulations under the guidance of Skopos Theory.This paper is made up of four parts.Part One is a brief introduction to the source,main content and significance of this translation project;Part Two concerns the whole process,including the plan of the translation,accumulation of background information,the selection of theory,translator's proofreading and supervisor's proofreading;Part Three concerns the case study,which provides an analysis on three aspects,style,sentence structures,and words.Besides,it explores the strategies used in the translation under the guidance of Functional Translation Theory.Part Four is a summary,in which the translator reviews the whole process of translation and summarizes how to become an excellent administrative legal translator.
