The Impact Of Internet Use On Public Service Satisfaction

In the background of the service-oriented government construction and “Internet + public services”,the study of the relationship between the Internet and public services has become crucial.This study explored the impact of Internet use on the overall satisfaction of public services by means of quantitative research.The independent variable is Internet use,and it is divided to four observation variables,which are "whether use the Internet","Internet use frequency","whether use the Internet as the main source of information" and “the main source of information”.Then the satisfaction of public services is divided into four dimensions,the satisfaction for sufficient,balanced,convenient and generally beneficial.Besides,gender,age,family income and other personal attributes or family characteristics factors are controlled.The 5772 samples data is obtained from CGSS2013.The statistical analysis was carried out by SPSS21.0,using descriptive analysis,correlative analysis,independent-Sample T Test and regression analysis.The main conclusions are as follows:There is a significant difference in public service satisfaction between groups using the Internet and those who do not use the Internet,and those who do not use the Internet are more satisfied than those who use the Internet,and the results are all the same in the satisfaction for adequacy,balance,convenience,and generally beneficial.For the Internet users,the frequency of Internet use has nothing to do with the satisfaction.However,the satisfaction for public service balance,convenience and generally beneficial is related with whether use the Internet as the main source of information.The satisfaction for these dimensions of the one who use Internet as the main information source is higher than that who use other information sources,but there is no significant difference in the satisfaction of adequacy between them.It shows that the influence of Internet use to the satisfaction of public service is not a linear relationship,in the development process,it will reduce the satisfaction,and then with the in-depth use of Internet,when Internet is used as the main source of information,it will make the satisfaction increase.
