The quality of education is the life of higher education and it is also concerned by the governments,society and collages.In 1999,29 countries in Europe met in Bologna,Italy.The meeting stated out that the higher education's quality assurance was the most important issue in the goal of European higher education.Britain is one of the sponsors of the Bologna process,and the European Association for Quality Assurance(ENQA)is modeled on the Quality Assurance Agency(QAA).Through the revision and improvement of quality assurance system,British forms a more special quality assurance system which has the combination of the internal and external assessment ? government supervision and independent assessment.Based on the impact and challenge brought by the Bologna process,this paper expounds the changes of the quality assurance system made by the British to achieve the quality assurance objectives of the Bologna process.Based on the case of Cambridge University,this paper analyzes the implementation effect?characteristics and challenges of the quality assurance system of higher education in the UK.This paper includes the introduction?four chapters and conclusion part.The introduction part includes the research background,the research question,the research present situation,the research significance,the research goal,the research method and the concept definition.The first chapter elaborates the background and content of the quality assurance policies of the European higher education area under the Bologna process and the background and the process of the changes of the quality assurance system of the British higher education.The second chapter analyzes the framework of the quality assurance system of the British higher education in the Bologna process,including the implementation way and the implementation process.The third chapter takes Cambridge University as a case and analyzes the effect and characteristics of the quality assurance system of Cambridge University under the Bologna process by studying the change of the quality assurance system of Cambridge University after the Bologna process.Chapter 4 summarizes the implementation effect,characteristics and challenges of the quality assurance system of the British higher education under the Bologna process.Finally is the conclusion part.
