New curriculum reform has put forward the demand for the reform of teaching,proposing to teach based on situations, based on problems, and based on activities,striving to improve students' learning ability, practical ability,innovation ability. The debate activity conforms to the trend of the new curriculum reform, and it also fits in with the characteristics of ideological and political discipline. This article discusses the application value, existing problems, causes and application strategies of the debate activity in the ideological and political class in senior high school.The first part expounds the debate activity and its value in the ideological and political class in senior high school. First of all, debate activity in class is a kind of auxiliary activity for teaching which serves the core quality of subjects and embodies the concept of cooperative learning, active learning and inquiry learning. It is also different from debate and class discussion activity. At the same time, compare the debate,discussion activity, debate activity so as to have a clear understanding of debate activity.Secondly, it discusses the unique value of the debate activity in class. It can realize the intrinsic value of the ideological and political course,cultivate the corresponding subject quality and promote teachers' professional development.The second part analyzes the current problems in the ideological and political class:topic selection being not reasonable; the debate process being without argument; debate being less guidance; debate activity being with low efficiency.The third part analyzes the reasons from the environment of the debate and the subject of the debate. At the same time, it analyzes the reasons in the specific implementation of the debate, such as the content of the debate, the debate organization and the debate summary.The fourth part discusses the application strategies of the debate activity from five aspects. Choose reasonable topic based on the characteristics of the ideological and political class. Organize reasonably debate activity forms. Optimize the debate activity process. Set up debate activity summary on account of curriculum objective. To reflect the discipline features, the relevant examples are illustrated in each part of the analysis.
