Located in the southeast of Gansu Province,Qin'an County is a national-level poverty-stricken county.As the saying goes,“the economic basis determines the superstructure”.Constrained by the economic development,the education and cultural development in this region is relatively backward.The coverage of musical culture and education in this County is low and the depth of education is not adequate.Since 2003 when senior high school performed music teaching in strict accordance with the “General Senior High School Music Curriculum Standard(experiment)”,most high schools have increased their music teachers and infrastructures.However,in general,these are still to be further improved.In the context of “score-orientation theory”,schools,parents and students pay too much attention to the college entrance examination score instead of the improvement of the aesthetic education and aesthetic ability.After a survey and interview of school leaders,music teachers,students and staff of the educational administrative departments in Qin'an County and a thorough knowledge of the current music education situation in senior high schools,it is found that there exist some problems in the music education of senior high schools in Qin'an County.Then through analyzing the causes,the author comes to the following conclusions:Firstly,staff of the educational administrative departments,schools,parents and students lacks knowledge about music education.The strong supervision and management of music teaching are also inadequate.The reason is that Qin'an County is a state-level poverty-stricken county.People's thinking lags behind so that they only pursue scores.Secondly,the serious shortage of musical infrastructure cannot meet the demand of daily teaching.Thirdly,the professional quality of music teachers is low.Their teaching ideas and teaching methods are backward.Fourthly,students have an insufficient knowledge of basic music.Fifthly,the materials of music teaching are outdated.As for these problems,the author proposed the following solutions:First of all,staff of the educational administrative departments in all levels,parents and students in Qin'an County should actively change their traditional philosophy and acknowledge the importance of music education.Second,the educational administrative department should strengthen their focus on music curriculum with financial support.With the help of the nation with the education in poverty counties,they should strive to develop the music education of high schools in Qin'an County.Last but not least,music teachers should actively improve both their professional quality and overall quality.They need to perform creative teaching and raise their teaching efficiency in class.Besides,they need to vigorously carry out extracurricular music activities.Based on the regional characteristics,the resources of music curriculum and school-based curriculum are also required to develop.As for schools,they should not only deal with the differences between students in a proper way but improve the teaching evaluation system,so as to enhance the enthusiasm of music teachers and improve the deficiencies of music education in Qin'an senior high schools.In this way,other national-level poverty-stricken counties can also improve their music education in senior high schools:...
