The issue about employment situation of college students is becoming more and more severe,the employment of college students has been a hot discussion for scholars and research,how to improve the employment ability of college students has became an important task for universities.The concept of psychological capital was proposed along with the rising of positive psychology,and gradually raised people’s attention.Whether we can raise the college students’ employment ability from the perspective of psychological capital deserve our research.This research was based on the relevant literature,applying the results of Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire(PPQ)edited by Zhang Kuo,ect.and College Students,Employment Ability Check List made by Lv Zhaohua as a research tool.We regard 557 undergraduate students in the college students of China university of petroleum(East China)as the research object.This study used statistical software SPSS17.0 to analyze the situation of psychological capital and employment ability of college students.This research obtained the following conclusion: the he overall mean of psychological capital was 3.4782,and the four factor’s score from high to low: “hope” is 3.7265,“optimism” is 3.5888,“self-efficacy” is 3.4544,“resilience” is 3.1264,which were all above 3,the midpoint value of the scale.It indicated that the overall and individual factor’s score of college students’ psychological capital were relatively well.The overall mean of employment ability is 3.4526,and the five factor’s score from high to low: “interpersonal communication ability” is 3.7371,“self-development ability” is 3.5198,“self-confidence” is 3.4416,“practice ability” is 3.3788,“adaptation ability” is 3.0848,which all above 3,the midpoint value of the scale.It proved that the overall and individual factor’s score of college students’ employment ability were relatively well.The study also showed that psychological capital and the dimension factors has strong positive effect on predicting employment ability.The explanation of psychological capital for employment ability is 73.0%.The explanation for employment ability about four factors which are “hope”,“optimism”,“self-efficacy” and “resilience”,respectively are 12.4%,46.8%,19.7% and 5.5%.Through statistical analysis,we established a regression equation of college students’ psychological capital and its dimensions factors on employment competitiveness,discussed the relationship between differences in different population variables and their psychological capital and employment competitiveness,and also discussed the College students ’ psychological capital and employment ability at various differences in demographic variables and their relationship.On the basis of analyzing and discussing the result of study,the paper put forward suggestions from both college and individual student levels that improving the employment ability of college students by developing their psychological capital.From the aspects of colleges: giving full play of teachers role for strengthening the guidance,create an atmosphere for promoting peer communication,simulate training for improving coping skills,advance the assessment measures for scientific evaluation.From the aspects of individual: positively attribute for facing life optimistically;reasonably position for improving the level of hope;experience success for enhancing self-efficacy and facing setbacks for strengthen mental toughness etc.
