Positive psychology is the study of all kinds of beautiful factors in People’s Daily life in a new perspective of psychology.Its purpose is to research and find out the positive character and potential of human.Positive psychology advocates with a more open and more appreciate the view of people.It pay more attention to the person positive,positive force.Positive psychology work for today’s college students’ character education provides a new train of thought.It’s not only puts forward a new idea of education,but a kind of new educational methods.With the deepening of the reform and opening up,economic globalization and diversification of value system,our society has become gradually diversified.It poses a major challenge to citizens’ moral and moral standards.College students are in the psychological development stage,however,to help them develop good characterandtheir ability,to help them adapt to the societyin a complex and diverse social environment,it’s the problem that need the character education workers pay more attention.This paper attempts to introduce the concept of positive psychology,in order to solve the bottleneck problem of college students’ character education.This paper is divided into four research levels.Firstly,the paper clarifies the research background,research purpose and significance.And on this basis to clarify the relevant concepts and research status,whichIncluds the meaning,origin and main theory of positive psychology,and the meaning,purpose and meaning of character education.Secondly,it analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the study of the actuality of college students’ character education.Thirdly,the paper analyzes the goal and development status of contemporary college students ’character education,and points out that the reason of college students’ character education is not high.There are three reasons,namely,personality education thinking block,poor education environment and lack of practice.Finally,on the basis of the above research,the author uses the theory of positive psychology to explore ways to improve the effectiveness of college students ’character education from three aspects: changing the concept of college students’ character education,constructing a positive character education environment and strengthening the practice of character education.The research of this paper confirms the possibility and theoretical prospect of positive psychology,and provides theoretical reference for the study of the effectiveness of college students’ character education.Through the research of this paper,the author hopes to achieve the real purpose of cultivating the excellent character of college students,improving the students’ comprehensive accomplishment and promoting the comprehensive development of college students.
