Higher education is an important part of talent cultivation in China.College students face various pressures and challenges from study and life,and it is easy for them to suffer setbacks.If they do not get the help they need,over time they may develop serious psychological problems,which may lead to psychological disorders and even mental illnesses.Therefore,the so-called “setback education” not only has become an important subject of mental health education for college students,but also has evolved into one of the most important issues that school and social educators need to consider.This article provides in-depth analysis of the issues and common misconceptions in current college students' setback education.It analyzes in detail what it means to suffer a setback,what setback education is,and introduces the concepts and theories associated with positive psychology.It emphasizes the urgency and significance of providing setback education to contemporary college students,and discusses scientific methods to best integrate positive psychology into setback education,broaden the research field of traditional setback education,and build innovative applications based on positive psychology principles.It promotes setback education as a way to help college students to more effectively enhance their sense of well-being.
