A Study On Counselor's Job Satisfaction In A University

Counselors are the backbone of the university ideological education,but under the influence of various factors,the team construction of college counselors is faced with so many difficulties that it is not satisfactory.To better understand the job satisfaction of university counselors and research the factors that influence the construction,we should further strengthen the counselor team construction and improve their status in the university ideological education.Based on the counselors in A university,this research will analyze their job satisfaction through some interesting interviews and scientific job inventories.In addition,this research will investigate the factors that influence the job satisfaction of university counselors through six aspects,namely,reward,conditions,values and characteristic of job,furthermore,the promotion and interpersonal relationships in work based on the current research by using the SPSS20.0.Empirical study results show that there is correlation between six independent variables and job satisfaction.And the influence is also varied.Listed from big influence to small,it can be arranged as follow: values,conditions,interpersonal relationships,job characteristics,job reward,and promotion.In addition,the income in the demographic variables,the size of the students and the satisfaction in the dependent variables also influence each other.Income has a positive correlation with job satisfaction and a negative correlation with the number of students.Therefore it is suggested that we should raise the job satisfaction of university counselors from the following five aspects,namely,enlarging the promotion channels,establishing characteristic appraisal system,improving instructors' recognition for work values,building fair and reasonable salary incentive system,and maintaining harmonious interpersonal relationships according to the actual situation and research of A university.
