With the development of the economy and the era,the idea of general education has been generally accepted by colleges and universities at home and abroad.Higher music education of general education concept has attached more and more importance as well.Due to historical reasons,public music education of our country's higher learning has always been dispensable and weak.With the growing popularity of music education,public music education in colleges and universities has improved to some extent,but there are still areas left for research and teaching.Targeted on five universities in Dalian,the thesis investigates present situation of basic resources setting of university music education,and focuses on specific content of music education general courses,professional teaching staff resources,and students' demand condition for music learning,based on survey methods of questionnaire and interview.The author found that public music education curriculum in the researched five universities of Dalian is based on nonfinite optional courses,with the lack of further overall planning.The author thinks that,setting from the reality of Dalian city,we should conform to the overall development trend of common university public art education,further implement and arrange course classification of finite and nonfinite music public optional courses,and enrich and improve the content and quality standard of music appreciation courses(as finite optional course);at the same time,with the connotation expansion and deepening of music appreciation class as the core,constitute the artistic optional course development chain,forming a gathering and radiation effect.The author puts forward that,in higher music teaching,music works appreciation teaching content,such as folk music appreciation,symphony appreciation,opera appreciation,national instrumental music appreciation,etc.,can be related to artistic culture courses such as introduction to art,history of music,aesthetics,unified and integrated to one course,which can be referred to as “music appreciation and artistic culture”.The class content can be overall planned into several closely related unit modules,taught by different teachers,who should do regular seminars,and interact with students.Besides,in the actual teaching process,each teacher should further comprehend multiple music culture ideas,and set up a teaching guiding ideology of cultural equality.Based on the investigation and analysis of public music teaching's present situation of the five universities in Dalian,the author also stresses that the teaching of music work analysis should be included in university music public course,in order to adapt to and meet the needs of students' understanding of music ontology.The author hopes that this investigation and study could contribute to our country's universitypublic music education construction and development.
