The Philippines is a heterogeneous, multicultural country that is composed of different ethnicities and languages.Since it is an archipelago country with a diverse history as a colony of Spain and the United States, along with multiple experiences of social, economic, historical developments, the Philippines' Chinese education is constantly on the forefront of change. In the contemporary setting, the Chinese community in the Philippines use the common languages of Fujian,Mandarin,English and Tagalog for communication. This diversification of languages has led to the altercation within the primary focus of Chinese education from school to location, from school to school, and from person to person. All schools within the Philippines academic society—whether an international school, public school, private school, joint venture school,or religion school—each have specialized management systems for integrating Chinese language education.Because of the Philippines's dynamics resulting from both historical and cultural heritage,Chinese schools in the country have unique qualities for education. The prestigious academic institution Xavier School is Chinese-Filipino Catholic school.Founded by a Catholic Jesuit priest and funded by the Chinese community,Xavier School stands as a testimony to both China and the Philippines having characteristics of internationalism because of the portrayal in actively responding to the concept of globalized education ever since the school was founded.Xavier School is also one of the highest ranked schools in the education rating system in the Philippines. The education concepts, teaching policies, and management plans of the school are all concerned by the industry. Therefore,it is necessary to thoroughly study the Chinese education in Xavier School.A thorough analysis of the overall dynamics of the school is able to precisely identify specific issues within the school system, and propose focused recommendations to address these issues. The proposed recommendations can also be of use to similar schools following the dynamics of Xavier School and operating within the educational system of the Philippines.Based on the data collected through 25 years of teaching at the Catholic academic institution,Xavier School, and the primary investigations conducted, the author focuses on the teaching objectives, teaching philosophy, teaching content, teaching methods and teaching evaluation of the Catholic schools in the Philippines. The overview of Philippine Catholic Jesuit schools within the field of Chinese education and management is processed through a comprehensive analysis and summary in order to find existing deficiencies,as well as attempting to posit rational solutions. After a holistic evaluation on the dynamics of Philippine Catholic schooling—that concerns the issues on instability of presiding teaching staff, the low enthusiasm of students, the lack of a formal linguistic environment, the current obsolete methods of teaching assessment, and the objective of effectively improving students'communicative competence in Chinese—the author posits that Philippines Catholic schools should adapt to the contemporary environment by introducing new teaching methods, making full use of advance academic resources for school management, developing and improving overseas study tours, utilizing an immersive learning platform, promoting the HSK examinations as an indicator of overall language proficiency, and continuously improving the management of Chinese educators to ensure the maintenance of an adequate level of teaching capability. The author rationalizes that these new adaptations are strong solutions for improving the overall dynamics of Chinese education in Philippine Catholic Jesuit schools.
